Taste of TLV
One of my favorite things to do is attend food events, especially those often titled "Taste of (enter city) ". It's just a great, efficient, and delicious way of tasting a city's various cuisines and culinary talents. So tonight kicked off the Taste of Tel Aviv and its impressive food stalls and attending restaurants were packed with hungry Tel Avivians looking for a cheap eat. Middle Eastern and Moroccan kebabs, Asian noodles, three different waffle stands, cooking demonstrations, and fresh food stalls had lines 30 people long. After much deliberation I settled on a cheese and spinach filo dough - a traditional Israeli dish I've been eyeing in bakery windows the past few weeks - and this one did not disappoint.
